The word around town is that this winter is going to be just as intense as last. And although it may indeed be possible to predict weather patterns six months in advance, these forecasts feel more like folk wisdom than sound meteorology. Which doesn't mean I don't take them seriously. Our people have been enduring winter up here for a long time, and preparing for the worst - who has that ever hurt? We spent Saturday afternoon this weekend wrapping pipes and covering windows, hoping to make this year a little easier on everyone. Part one today featured the actual winterizing we did; part two will feature lots of hot cocao and smiling faces. And as for which one is more important - wrapping pipes or warming cocao? I say it'd be hard to get through winter without either one.
