A friend of mine tagged me in a post a couple days ago and asked this questions: Why do we create? How do we measure our success? Can real success occur outside of fame and fortune?
One answer to that questions is this: We Create in order to reach out and connect with other human beings. Success is when we connect with enough human beings that we get to keep Creating tomorrow.
I was reading through an old PDF from Seth Godin, and it included this amazing sentence: "He is proud to have a two word bio: Seth ships."
The work we Create doesn't become art until we ship, until we reach out and share our work, until to we connect with other human beings.
Which, surprise surprise, is exactly how you form that other great love of human beings: Community.
